The environment, within the confines of a courtyard and gardens, is very safe and friendly. There is a splendid swimming pool with lawns, hammocks and deckchairs around.

Candili makes a great base from which to enjoy the many beaches and walks in the area, and boat trips and water skiing can also be arranged here. Children can find lots to do in the safe and friendly environment and there are many tranquil spots in which to relax while wonderful home cooked meals are prepared for you.

Accommodation is in family suites comprising inter-connecting bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms.

The buildings of Candili are like arms embracing the courtyard which they surround, giving the feeling of safety and homeliness of your own private space, within the gates.

The family suites are independent enough to give individual privacy yet because they open onto a shared veranda there is a sociable sense of being part of a Candili family.

There are only 12 rooms so Candili never has too many people - just enough to have a lively social interaction if you want it but not enough to feel crowded.

The excellent resident family cook, Sofoula produces sumptuous meals from our own vegetable garden for the guests to enjoy. Meals are eaten on a long communal dining table next to a pool and provide a perfect opportunity to get to know the other guests.

The estate is a huge playground for children, offering acres of space in the gardens and surrounding fields and the courtyard makes a safe area for children to play freely. Children are sure to find new friends amongst the guests and the various pets which are very part of the Noel-Baker family scene.

There is a table tennis table, croquet, boules, bicycles, board games, a music system (bring your favourite tapes), and all the things you would expect to find in your own holiday home.

As well as the delightful spring-fed plunge pool, there is a fabulous new 15m x 7m swimming pool for all the guests to use. This wonderful new pool is a great favourite with all the children, who never want to leave it!

If you are looking for peace and tranquillity, while the children are happy playing with their new friends, Candili has many secluded corners which are perfect for a relaxing siesta or a quiet read -either under a shady tree, in the garden, on a lawn or by the pool - the choice is yours.

There are many beaches and walks to enjoy in the local area: The beautiful pine forests, mountains, olive-groves and river valleys that surround Candili offer a rich variety for walks ranging from 20 minutes to 20 hours. The fascinating topography of the island itself is a living geology lesson.

The closest beach is only 15 minutes drive, and within half an hour there are more beaches than you could visit in 2 weeks.

We recommend that you hire your own car as there are numerous lovely beaches and other parts of the island the island to visit during your stay.
